Why would you want him to go? He has become quite entertaining. He quotes his views as fact, based on his own whacko publications. When they are shown to be false, he continues to argue on and on. I think its fun watching people trying to trap him. He's no dummy as he rarely puts a date on his "predictions". The Al Gore as Dem nom is going to bite him in the ass though. Yes, he will have an excuse for that. Fun to watch it unfold anyway.
. October 13, 2006 SouthAmerica: CNN News still broadcasting the US government propaganda to the American people and today they did reach a new low when they did show a film made by some wacko making fun of former Secretary of State Madelaine Albright and her visit to North Korea during the Clinton administration. It would have been funny if the spoof had been done on Saturday Night Live, but not as a desperate political move by the Republican Party collapsing before an election. The Republican Party is sinking lower, and lower by the day. By the way, today when I was surfing the television channels I noticed that AMC (American Movie Classics) was going to show tonight a movie that reminds me of the last two US presidential elections and the division that they came up with regarding the United States â the Republican red state, and the Democratic blue state â For some reason I always have associated the red states with the movie âDeliveranceâ â the rednecks in that movie are the only kind of people I can understand would vote for the Bush/Cheney ticket. ***** Going back to the subject of this thread â the North Korean nuclear crisis. Here is what âChinaâ should do regarding the US/North Korea nuclear crisis. First, let me explain a few things that the US mainstream media is not bringing to the attention of the American people. I donât know why Americans have a tendency of keeping their ideas about many things frozen in the past. I understand that Americans have been indoctrinated all this time and have been demonizing North Korea for over 55 years, and after you have been brainwashed for so long it is hard to think about North Korea in any other way. The other problem is that the Korean War is not a war that Americans can claim that they won that war. The truth is North Korea has been a problem for over 50 years that Americans were never able to overcome it. The Bush administration has not grasped as yet, but the world has changed a lot in the last 16 years. In the mind set of the Bush administration âChinaâ still is a Communist state, and many Republicans still beat the old drum about communism. Because the Bush administration is clueless to what is really going on in many parts of the world including South America, Asia, and even in Iraq â George W. Bush thinks that the United States is winning the war in Iraq, and that things are getting very good inside Iraq for the Iraqi people â He lives in La La Land. Since the Bush administration are so incompetent â we are talking here really âINCOMPETENTâ with capital letters - and unable to grasp the changes that are happening around the world and they think that other countries mind set are also frozen in time â a time long gone. I am sure that North Korea is aware of the economic revolution and transformation that is happening in China. The North Koreans are not the fools that the US mainstream media show on a regular basis to the American people. These fools that the US mainstream media show to the American people - are capable of building long-range missiles and nuclear warheads. We know who the real fools are on this story. ***** North Korea: Population: 23,113,019 (July 2006 est.) Land Boundaries: border countries: China 1,416 km or 885 miles, South Korea 238 km or 149 miles, Russia 19 km or 12 miles. South Korea: Population: 48,846,823 (July 2006 est.) ***** Here is a better option for China to implement instead of imposing sanctions and starving North Korea into a complete collapse and chaos. China should invest in North Korea and help them build a sound economy. For China to invest a few billion dollars in North Korea makes more sense than just send the money to the US to be pissed away by the US government in places such as Iraq and so onâ¦. The North Koreans are aware of the economic revolution that is happening right next door in China, and North Korea should take this opportunity to develop its economy and pig back on Chinaâs economic expansion and the result will be economic prosperity in North Korea. The potential merge of the two Koreas does not have to be as painful as the merge of East and West Germany â the fact that North Korea has a long border with China is a major positive fact in favor of North Korea. Besides North Korea have only 23 million people on its population which in terms of China is almost an irrelevant number - it is just a drop in the bucket. China can integrate North Koreaâs economy very easily with Chinaâs economic development in the coming years â and China can do that with some help from the South Koreans. China can showcase to the world its new type of leadership â and resolve the North Korean problem with economic development and prosperity instead of the American type of leadership with guns, lots of dead people, and complete chaos such are the cases in Iraq and Afghanistan. China does not need a six party talk to solve the North Korean problem â all China needs to do is a positive economic plan to help North Korea build its infrastructure and a sound economy. In no time I can see both Koreas merging into one country, the South Koreans are very sharp and they understand that bringing prosperity to North Korea it is a better strategy than starting a war on the Korean Peninsula and a potential nuclear war. The Bush administration believes that beating the war drum and squeezing North Korea to the brink of a nuclear war it is a better choice. But today the entire world knows how incompetent the Bush administration is (with the exception of the new Treasury Secretary). China would earn admiration from people around the world for its new brand of leadership if they help North Korea to develop its economy instead of creating the foundations for a North Korean collapse and possible civil war. If China thinks that Iraq is a good example to follow then they should follow in the footsteps of the United States and its suggestions and recommendations â and the result will be complete chaos in the Korean Peninsula and possible nuclear war. If I were in charge of making the decision regarding North Korea I would choose the economic development path and economic prosperity. Only Morons would follow the Bush administrationâs suggestions on anything. .
Excellent post.... The same type of approach should have been applied to the oil welfare states... War and killing each others children is never never a solution... I must say that INCOMPETENCE is a real possibility...however in regards to Iraq...and after one very carefully reviews the biography of Dick Cheney...one would be a close minded fool to believe that oil was not part of the Iraq equation...The worst case outcome being that the oil business would make a lot of money...Looks like the worst case is happening... BUSH Administration INCOMPETENCE... One of the countries that I have a house in had some financial problems and were given some foreign aid...In order to get the aid...the country was forced to impose a 20% tax on essential products where the average person makes $200 per month...In addition...they were stiff armed to agree to go into CAFTA...A local bank...the third largest in the country whose every day business is to be in the trenches did a study and concluded that over 30% of the countrys businesses would be eliminated because of CAFTA... INCOMPETENCE... is an understatement.... It is hard to conceive how so few people can do so much damage.... Look one can lose a lot of money by doing business with a crook...or one can lose a lot of money by INCOMPETENCE.. But when you have both happening...it is unbelievably damaging... I certainly hope the US will sieze the opportunity to make the changes in their leadership...It is desperately needed...for the sake of the world...
. October 13, 2006 SouthAmerica: I guess John Boltonâs conversation with the other members of the UN that are not armed with nuclear weapons went something like this: Our country can have nuclear weapons and long-range missiles, and we even can test new nuclear devices if we want to, but if you try to develop it on your country then you are an immediate threat to humanity. By the way, the US tested two atomic bombs in Japan (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) instead of doing an underground test - and I can tell you that when you drop one of these devices on top of a city full of innocent people (senior citizens, children, women, and other collateral damage) the test went very well and we were able to kill a lot of people â on our particular tests we were able to kill over 200,000 people with two single Boooooooommmms. I ask you members of the UN to go along with me on these sanctions against North Korea because the US needs to protect our turf on the nuclear weapons area and we want to maintain our weapons advantage against other countries and also be able to threat any other country with nuclear weapons even if that country is not armed with nuclear weapons. It is ironic, but - in a nutshell - that is what the United States is asking the other countries to go along with US at the United Nations regarding the UN sanctions against North Korea. I believe the new UN resolution will be called: âUS resolution - Please keep me as the biggest bully on the block.â ***** âMain points of draft UN resolution on North Koreaâ (AFP) - 13 October 2006 Khaleej Times - UAE UNITED NATIONS - The UN Security Council is set to vote on Saturday on a draft resolution calling for wide-ranging sanctions against North Korea over its declared nuclear test. Here are the main points of the draft text: - Acting under Article 41, Chapter Seven of the UN charter, the UN Security Council âcondemnsâ the nuclear test announced by North Korea on October 9 which was in âflagrant disregardâ of earlier UN resolutions. The Council views the test as a âclear threat to international peace and security.â The 15-member Security Council demands North Korea refrain from any further nuclear test or launch of a ballistic missile, return to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and eliminate its nuclear weapons and nuclear programme, and other weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programmes, âin a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner.â - The Council âcalls upon DPRK (North Korea) to return immediately to the six-party talks without precondition.â - All member states shall prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer to North Korea of: - any battle tank, armoured combat vehicles, large calibre artillery systems, combat aircraft, attack helicopters, warships, missiles or missile systems or related materiel; - all items, materials, equipment, goods and technology which could contribute to North Koreaâs nuclear-related, ballistic missile-related or other weapons of mass destruction-related programmes; - luxury goods; - All member states shall âfreeze immediatelyâ the funds, other financial assets and economic resources that are owned or controlled, directly or indirectly, by persons or entities engaged in or providing support for North Koreaâs nuclear, other weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile-related programmes. The Security Council may decide that exceptions to the freeze on financial assets may be allowed for âextraordinary expensesâ or âbasic expenses,â including payment for foodstuffs, rent, mortgage, medicines and medical treatment, taxes, insurance premiums, public utility charges or for legal or other services associated with the maintenance of frozen funds. Financial assets associated with a judicial, administrative or abitral lien or judgment may also be exempted from the freeze on assets and economic resources, subject to the Security Councilâs review. - All member states shall take steps to prevent the entry into or transit through their territories of those persons, together with their family members, designated as being responsible for -- including through supporting or promoting -- North Koreaâs policies in relation to its nuclear, ballistic missile and other weapons of mass destruction related programmes. Exceptions to the travel ban may be justified for âhumanitarian need,â including religious obligations, or where the Security Council concludes that an exemption would otherwise further the objectives of the present resolution. - All member states shall take cooperative action, âincluding through inspection of cargo to and from North Koreaâ to prevent illicit trafficking in nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, their means of delivery and related materials. - All member states are to report to the Security Council within 30 days of adoption of this resolution on the steps taken to implement the provisions calling for preventing the sale or supply to North Korea of arms and of items that related to its nuclear, ballistic missile or other weapons of mass destruction programmes. - The Security Council will establish a committee, comprised of representatives from each Council member state, to oversee the implementation of the resolution, examine alleged violations, consider requests for exemptions to sanctions, determine additional items to be banned and promulgate guidelines to member states. .
and N Korea never had the capabilities to build a nuclear weapon until the Clinton Adminstration sold them the centrafuges to make them. Coddling lunatics and dictators doesn't work.
why you have to spin this against the u. s. is really sort of whacked out. SA - do not the concerns of Japan, Australia and the rest of asia matter to you. That you cast this as Korea against the U.S. shows your anti U.S. bias. And that is part of the reason the U.S. has declined to enter into bilateral talks. It is not the u.s's problem. Why do you spin this in such an biased manner?
Because he is blinded by his hatred of this nation, to the point where hes lost his logic. Of course the concerns of Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Philippines, and South Korea, mean nothing to him, as it would negate the blame on America. I think you are correct Jem, that N. Korea's nukes are really not America's problem, really just America's allies in Asia. But your words are lost on Southamerica, in his past posts, his hatred has boxed himself in the corner with the world's worst. Read his post (a few back from this) on how he recommends China should build up N. Korea economically. Why would China do that when they can use N. Korea as a nasty little poodle to piss and shit in the direction of the US and its allies, as they do now.
. Jem: SA - do not the concerns of Japan, Australia and the rest of Asia matter to you. That you cast this as Korea against the U.S. shows your anti U.S. bias. And that is part of the reason the U.S. has declined to enter into bilateral talks. It is not the u.s's problem. Why do you spin this in such an biased manner? ********** October 13, 2006 SouthAmerica: It is not anti U.S. bias as you mentioned above. It is anti George Bush and his administration. I am sure that the United States and North Korea would not be in the middle of a nuclear weapons crisis if Al Gore had been president of the United States since 2001. The relationship between North Korea and the United States would be on a complete different path by now - The path for peace and reconciliation. The people in South America and in most places around the world could care less about the fact that North Korea has nuclear weapons. The US government propaganda machine has been scaring the American people to death about all kinds of boogiemen â the Russians are coming, the Cubans are coming, Saddam Hussein is coming armed with nuclear weapons, Iran is coming also armed with nuclear weapons, Chavez is coming armed with oil money, even a poor Inca such as Ivo Morales from Bolivia has become a boogieman that scares Americans to death. For a superpower Americans are a bunch of scared people - it is pathetic â today Americans are afraid of even of their shadows. The US government is afraid of even Ivo Morales â the US government must be kidding. (He is on the list of potential terrorists that could do harm to the United States.) The only country that is armed with nuclear weapons that Americans should be afraid of because that country has the highest probability that would supply a nuclear weapon to Al Qaeda â the US mainstream media never even remotely bring to the attention of the American people that country is Pakistan â Pakistan is where the real danger lies and not in Iran or North Korea or in Venezuela. If Osama Bin Ladden and Al Qaeda ever get their hands on a nuclear weapon â you can bet that the nuclear weapon was provided by Pakistan. Various talking heads claim on various television programs that North Korea will sell the nuclear technology including a nuke to Al Qaeda or some other terrorist group to be able to get a few bucks. But I have news for you, Pakistan might be the source for such event, but Pakistan will not do it for money, it will do it for religious reasons â they might provide Al Qaeda with a nuke for free as a contribution to help Al Qaedaâs achieve their goals. The only country in the world that would make me a little uncomfortable if they acquired nuclear weapons it is Japan â for obvious reasons. I live in the United States, but if I were a Japanese I would never forget that the United States dropped not one but two atomic bombs on my country and killed a lot of innocent people. I bet many Japanese remember that fact, and on the back of their minds they hope that some day they can return the favor to the United States. If you donât understand what I am saying here then just trade places with the Japanese people for a minute and see things from their perspective. Letâs say that the drop of the atomic bomb had happened the other way around and the Japanese had dropped one atomic bomb in Los Angeles, and another in San Francisco and today you had films to see the devastation that the bombs had caused to your cities and to your people â with a lot of people including women, senior citizens, and children with their bodies completely burned by the blast, with many people blinded, and most exposed to radiation and dying a slow and escrutiating death with no hospital or doctors, and medicine to help reduce the painâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ Would you forget such a horrific act done by your enemy that caused so much devastation and pain to your country and to your people? We are not talking about killing soldiers on the battlefield here â we are talking about innocent women, senior citizens, and children who were going about their daily routines on a quiet city away from the horrors of a warâ¦â¦â¦â¦.. I could care less if Australia decides to build nuclear weapons to protect their people. Saddam Hussein did not have nuclear weapons to protect his country against a foreign attack and just look what has happened to him, to his people and to his entire country. We know that this country and that country come under the supposed US protection, as it is the case with South Korea and Taiwan. But you can bet that when the shit hits the fan the United States will not be around to protect these countries from a nuclear attack. Just ask the Serbs since they have practical experience on that regard - they thought that they where under the protection or umbrella of the Russians, but when their country was pulverized by the United States the Russians never showed up to help the Serbs. For all practical purposes this idea that another country will come to your countriesâ rescue when you have been attacked by another powerful country it is more a myth and wishful thinking than what would happen in reality. I understand that a very small country with very small resources donât have another choice other than trust that someone will come and help them when they have been attacked. But if you are a country of a certain size and with enough resources then you better make sure you have nuclear weapons and you should not rely on any other country for you national security. I understand 100 percent why Iran and also North Korea feels that they need nuclear weapons to protect not only their country, but also their population from a foreign attack. The nuclear weapons genie is out of the bottle, and I am sure this genie is not going back into the bottle. .
Ha. Ha-ha! Ha-ha-ha-ha!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! More proof as to how deranged you are. What, you think if Japan had nukes they would "return the favor"? You think the fact that they depend on the US to drive their economy would be cast aside so they could avenge Hiroshima and Nagasaki? You don't think the Japanese understand - and remember - that they were treated in arguably the most benevolent manner an occupier ever has in history? American troops were not permitted to rape, torture, and murder as the Japanese did all over Asia. Thanks to the US, Japan became a world economic superpower, and her sins largely discounted. Perhaps your vision of a venegeance-minded Japan exists in a Tom Clancy novel where a militant group staged a coup d'etat....in other words, in a fantasy land. In the World of Denial, where you and the other moonbats reside. Furthermore, the Japanese have no moral authority as to actions performed during WWII. Their brutal occupations of much of Asia before and during WWII were case studies in not giving a shit about collateral damage and the lives of civilians, let alone that of captured Allied prisoners. Ever hear of the Rape of Nanking? Does Unit 731 ring a bell? Chekiang? The Bataan Death March? They killed many more civilians in China alone than the atomic bombs combined. 540,000 Allied prisoners of war died in captivity under the Japanese. Read up some time on how badly they treated civilians in Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines - anywhere they invaded in Asia - and look at the numbers of deaths they inflicted, and the horrendous manner in which they were carried out. Children being raped and bayoneted, or thrown onto bonfires. Contests between Japanese officers as to how many civilians they could decapitate in a given time. The list goes on and on and on. The Japanese got off very lightly for their actions in WWII. You're an utter fool.
US wasted chance to improve the world: Gorbachev Berlin.ââ¬â Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, who played a key role in ending the Cold War, said the United States had squandered an opportunity to improve global politics after the Cold War, a paper said on Friday. In comments that were among the harshest he has made about the United States, Gorbachev compared U.S. foreign policy to one of the deadliest diseases on the planet ââ¬â AIDS. "Today our American friends are suffering from an illness worse than AIDS. And I would say this is the victor's complex," Gorbachev was quoted as saying in an interview with the Netzzeitung. Unable to extricate itself from its Cold War mentality, the United States was playing a dwindling role in world politics, while Russia, China, Brazil, Europe, India and Japan were becoming stronger, Gorbachev said. North Korea, which said on Monday it had successfully completed a nuclear test, was an example. Only China and Russia were in a position to handle Pyongyang, he said. Washington will in future have to act less on its own and get used to a position of diminished importance, he said. "The Americans will have to understand that in future they will have to cooperate and make decisions jointly, instead of just always wanting to give orders," Gorbachev said. He said the United States and other Western countries had missed an opportunity to make the world a better place after the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 ushered in the end of communism.
