Thats why we strike swift and without warning. Trump could broker a deal with China this week. Our intel knows where everything's at. He'll be gone before he can spell the word nuclear. There'll be civilian casualties, make no mistake... but weighed against a conventional conflict with all the nasty stuff he has and Seoul only 50 miles away...collateral loss of life will be insignificant in comparison to any other option. On both sides.
That would be a good idea if they knew with certainty where all of Kims weapons are.I'm not sure they know where all of Kims nukes are though.During the Cuban missile crises they later found out The Russians had more nukes in Cuba than they knew about and targeted for their airstrikes. The Generals told Kennedy they knew where all the missiles were and they would be taken out and no retaliation from Cuba would be possible and they were wrong.
Ahhhhh.... its kinda different strategically. For all practical purposes, this is a rogue state. The goal is not to take out the weapons necessarily; its to take out him, his senior officers, and the command and control centers in a sweeping swift attack. That renders any major weapon systems they have useless. The wildcard is...depending on standing orders (our cia should know), soldiers in the field controlling mobile (truck/rail based) launch systems may be trained to launch in the event of an attack without receiving orders from their central command. Aerial targeting using real-time satellite imagery should minimize this risk ...but they will get a few in the air. Hidden fixed installations that we are unaware of with large conventional missiles are a problem. Perhaps thats why we've deployed the THAADS. Thats what they're for. Make no mistake...it won't be perfect; but to prevent a colossal loss of innocent life in the long run... assuming we can't live with a nuclear N Korea...it seems the only way to go. I think China would be down for it. Then we can get on with the business of making the world better. Oops I forgot. There's still Isis, Syria, and Iran. What a f'd up world eh?
