    Working well?!
Did you happen to notice all the technological advancements in that time-line?
    Hence the friggin time-line!
    When's the "timeline" contained?
What's going to be the next entry?

  4. It was sarcasm. By the same NRA logic Obama had no reason to be concerned about inanimate objects.

Notice the Cold War in that timeline? That was when they became untouchable militarily.

They have been capable of devastating the US with biological weapons for a LONG time. They have been capable of a hydrogen bomb for a long time (I believe they could have done this far earlier).

The various Kim's have been playing a game of slow reveal. Kim Jong Un through the programs started by father and grandfather wants to achieve a stable state of nuclear/other M.A.D.

The missiles are a red-herring, a show for the domestic audience and general public. It is not fooling the Pentagon for a moment. Any real threat would come in a container and sit there quietly with a sign saying, "Leave Kim Alone".

He can't win a war but he can keep the US and others at bay with the threat of unacceptable loss. When you have nuclear material and biological weapons, you win a degree of high ground.

So containment, wait and see if some internal revolution or other deals with it. Don't forget that China could have just given him a missile that can survive re-entry etc, they also have skin in the game and are managing him.

They get a massive amount of slave labor from Kim, a lot of 'made in China' goods are made in N-K.

Trump is poking a wasp's nest for political gain, for show to bolster his poor ratings. You are taking a big risk of a nuclear/biological accident for a politician's ratings.

NK has nukes (that they got while Bush was President) and ICBM'S(that they got while Trump was President). They may want to negotiate now because they are in a much bigger position of strength than they have ever been. They may have also realized what a horrible negotiator Trump is.

  7. Military grade biological weapons, specialized chemicals and their delivery systems, ion proplusion on asteroids, nano-technology are more dangerous than nuclear weapons because you don’t even know you’ve being attacked until it’s too late. As more and more technological interdependencies are created, the failure on a single link can bring down the entire system. Thus cyber wars are a potent threat to the most technologically advanced countries.

We will see people starving with food rotting on the farms types of situations in the future.

Artificial Intelligence will inevitably be used as a weapon to find the non-obvious weak links in a system. The cost to kill ones enemies will be measured in tenths or hundredths of a penny. Additionally, the availability of weapons of mass destruction to smaller groups is likely to increase because of lower cost and greater availability of information. Think CRISPER, the off the shelf DNA editing kit. A small group or maybe even an individual in the future may be able to change the geopolitical landscape all by themselves. They will be hard to discover. Imagine what the the Las Vegas shooter could have done if he had the inclination and access to these technologies and techniques?

Instead schools being affected, they could target a city, an entire religeous group, a political group, a specific organization, etc.

The ability for a small group to use technology as leverage to atempt to advance its agenda is a scary thing to me and is a much more serious issue than school shootings (for example).

It appears the only chance the humans have for long term relevence or survival, or short survival for that matter, is character and tolerance. Do you feel lucky?
