I caught the gold bug earlier this year, after having the "gold sniffles" for about 2 years. I've got a good start on a stash of physical gold and silver and it is stored--and don't want to touch it.

I'm just getting into futures & trading and know I have a LOT to learn, which is OK. But I was wondering about where I could find a good commodity trading pool to put some money in a 6 month contract.

My current budget is $5k to start and my risk fund is about $2k/month. Can someone point me in the direction of some good resources so I can find out about investing this way, and a good tading pool?

  2. Not sure what you mean by commodity trading pool. Here is a link

Futures trading is tough, I would tell you to look at GLD, an
exchange traded fund that trades like a stock. A pool could be into anything. Read the posts on ET for futures brokers, as they all have different requirements. The CBOT web site has live gold futures here, mini and full size contracts.

I would lurk on their site for free before you sign up with a futures broker. TradeStation and IB futures are popular, but there are tons of brokers who would love to have your business. Good luck!!

You'll fare better when you have more dough to put up.
