I like to trade Index ETFs with a 20 year history. When I began looking at non US indexes, it seems that a number of them don't have 20 year histories. Do you know which non US index ETFs have a 20 year history. So far I only see EWZ for Brazil and EWW for Mexico. Your help is appreciated.
20 years ago, ETFs on non-US instruments were almost unheard of and the ones that were around were very illiquid and had massive spreads. If you want something tradeable, look at index futures. A backadjusted continuous futures chart should give you an idea of the trends. (Australia: SPI 200, Germany: DAX, Switzerland: SMI, France: CAC40, Hong Kong: Hang Seng, Taiwan: MSCI Taiwan, Canada: S&P/TSX 60, Japan: Nikkei 225 (both CME and SGX), Singapore: MSCI Singapore, India: Nifty 50 (trading on SGX-DT), China: FTSE China A50 (also on SGX-DT), UK: FTSE-100, Korea: KOSPI 200. Otherwise, look at indices (preferably total return variants) less the haircut that you would be paying on ETFs.

Index ETF is hard to trade, and most importantly it is a basket of local stocks, excluding any US restrictions, prominently HSI and EWH, none of the China big names are in it. And there is once a while currency crisis, which may not make you money at all. It is not hedged. Anyway, good luck.
PH, Wow, VettaFi what a great screener for inception date. Solved my problem. Much appreciated. Murray, Richard, Merv, Good info. Thank you, Larry
