Non-compete clause

Discussion in 'Prop Firms' started by thebullpicker, Jun 7, 2010.

  1. I was looking through the application with CY group and it has a non compete clause in there that basically I will not work for another firm doing anything close to trading for a year after I finish trading with them.

Now I'm a student and trading with CY group was going to be a part time thing for me but once I get out of college, I'm going to be moving on to wall street (hopefully). But it seems this non-compete will not let me do this.

A lot of you trade with prop firms do they all have non-compete clauses and is there any way to negotiate around them? Sitting out a year is not an option for me.

  2. Non-compete at a chop shop? Tell them to shove it up their asses.

  3. yeah it kinda surprised me. any other thoughts/experiences?
