  1. The way, I see it, if using Technical Indicators makes you a consistantly profitable trader (and apparently it does), it means they are working :)

  2. Sorry your team lost. I thought it was a good game though. I also thought that AZ showed a lot more class.

Glad to see your month is starting out well !!!

Keep up the good work !!

  3. Nice day today NoD! Stick with it. Hopefully the chat will get back to usual and you can get into a routine like last month.

Geez, yes I use Etrade for both equities and options and have attached a screen view of my watch list, which happens to be an Options Analysis watch list. That means if you add an option symbol it displays it right under the stock symbol and provides the "Greeks" on the option.

The view I've attached also includes the Option Chain window that you can view for any stock on your watch list that you select. You can place orders from the Option Chain window, from the standard order entry window, or from the Level II window (which is what I use for order entry).

Bob! Where were you today? I was worried Mickey Mouse ate you, or your brain turned to mush from waiting in lines and you were in your office staring at all those monitors trying to figure out what you are actually supposed to do there :p

(Thanks to everyone for ongoing encouragement. I will need for about another 10 years.)

    + $372

Covered IDCC overnight short @ 33.04, oversold, for a $60 gain, with only a bit more downside after that.

Short IDCC @ 33.32, on pull back from overbought, covered @ 33.11, oversold, for a $105 gain, only .05 from the bottom of the move, so no complaints.

Short IDCC @ 33.44, on pull back from overbought, covered @ 33.32, oversold, for a $123 gain, only .02 cents from the bottom.

Scaled into HOTT short @ average price 8.62.

Short IDCC @ 33.37, failure to test previous minor resistance. Covered @ 33.30, pivot off oversold for a $70 gain.

Short IDCC overbought at average price of 33.36 (adding the balance after 227 shares were filled @ 33.40 limit order, who buys a 127 share lot?) Covered @ 33.27, oversold, after much ranging around, for a $92 gain.

Limit order to short IDCC @ 33.38 missed by a penny. Best short of the afternoon.

Limit order later @ 33.40, which someone got filled, but not me before it dropped nicely. Didn't want to chase so close to day's end.

I really wanted to short larger positions on IDCC, since I was scalping small moves, but the volume dried up after the morning volatility.

    + $730

Had an initial profit target on HOTT @ 8.32 but covered @ 8.42 for about a $400 gain when it appeared stalled and oversold. It did actually drop a bit below my initial target before bouncing. Patience, patience…

Scaled into another HOTT short position @ 8.64. Could’ve scalped it three times over for profits and didn’t. Finally covered @ 8.59 for a $150 gain.

Added to APOL calls but ended up buying them all back on the pivot from oversold for just a $60 gain when I realized having them on was tying up too much valuable trading capital. The reason I sold calls instead of shorting the stock was because I thought it would conserve my capital. Well, I learned otherwise. Much better to have shorted the stock as APOL made new lows after a failed rally off my closing price.

Short HOTT again @ 8.67 on pull back from overbought and failure to make a new high, target 8.57 just above previous support, filled for a $200 gain one penny from the bottom of the move. Let’s hear it for support and resistance!

Thanks, Bos! I learned how to trade from Bob (aka 1R), so I owe all my profits to him (and all my losses to my dog, who sleeps all day).

I'm still holding an unrealized loss on my unintentional CECO short, but Reuters issued a nasty underperform report yesterday and S&P just maintained a sell rating on it with a 2009 target price of $15, so I'm willing to let it play out for a while, with my emergency backup "1Reason" risk management trading plan in place: triple the position @ 24.00 and take profits on the pull back :p

I look forward to trading with you again!
