BLB, didn't you read the ET posting etiquette??? You can't compliment a fellow trader until s/he's had 10 profitable days in a row! I only had 9 profitable days and you jinxed me! (I sure would hate to wipe out those profits nextweek, so say something mean and bring my trades back to green )
Jeez, BLB, that's harsh. I was up all night gnashing my teeth, wringing my hands, tearing my hair out, and drinking large glasses of vodka (and I don't drink)
NoDoji how much in fees and commisions do you pay monthly on your trades? Do you trade from home? And where did you learn to trade?
Hi Frostie, I'm with Etrade and pay 6.99 per trade and .75 per contract on options. I trade from home, and it appears I haven't quite learned to trade yet, after putting on two short positions before waiting for the test of resistance; how could I do this after discussing in this very journal what a waste it is to do this? I got a great deal of valuable information from Oliver Velez' free webinars, as well as his books, also Josh Lukeman's book "Market Maker's Edge", and Alan Farley's book, "The Master Swing Trader" (this one is really esoteric, but if you read each paragraph twice while studying his sample charts, and click your heels together three times, the knowledge will be implanted into your subconscious). NOTHING has educated me more than 8 hours a day of screen time and actual trading for the past 6 months. You get something out of that which can't be found in any book. Finally, I have communicated at length with some of the folks here on ET over the past few months and that has been priceless.
+ $1730 I dedicate today's P&L to Boosh, who knows how to talk dirty to a lady HOTT dropped nicely and I covered very oversold @ 8.77 for a $800 gain, only to watch it fall quite further. Shorted WYE @ 39.00 with a target at 38.80 and it diddled forever, so I covered @ 38.90 for a $50 gain. Shorted WYE again @ 39.07 pulled back from overbought. Set trend line cover target of 38.87, filled for a $200 gain. It was also oversold at that price, so both trend line and stochastics set up the profit target. Shorted SQNM @ 25.66 overbought near third test of HOD. Support-based cover target of 25.55 filled for a $115 gain. Shorted SQNM @ 25.50, previous support target 25.30 filled for $200 gain. It had a strong bounce off 25.24, so good target there. Shorted SQNM @ 25.64 overbought, yet another test near the HOD, covered @ 25.44 for $200 gain. Planned to short it again, grabbed a quick bite while it consolidated and it was tanking big when I returned to my desk. Shorted BBBY @ 25.73 overbought near HOD and covered @ 25.62 (as it had been bouncing off the 8-period SMA) for a $114 gain. My remaining APOL position hit b/e and I exited @ 86.95, massively oversold LOD, figuring I would free up trading capital and re-short it later on the inevitable bounce it always seems to make, but the bounce was weak and my original profit target wouldâve stood up nicely today. Shorted BBBY @ 25.51 overbought, target just above previous established support filled @ 25.40 for a $110 gain, .01 cent from the bounce. End of day shorted BBBY @ 25.45 overbought, target 25.40 filled for a $50 gain. There are a couple nice charts I would've posted today, but I have to bake for an Inaguration dinner party, so I am out of here!
