All you had to do this morning was click on "trades" in IB and there will be a list of every BOT and SLD. Since you didn't provide that, I don't believe your big numbers. Also the fact that your GC trade the other day was not a possible ACTUAL P/L # out of IB with their GC commission structure.

I believe you may be a fine trader, but I think you are painting a larger-than-life picture of yourself.

I respectfully ask that you keep your posts in your own journal at this point.

    Thank you.

    + $115 Day
    + $577 Week
    + $2664 Month

Short ES @ 1080.75 shortly before the open when bounce off a higher low failed, leaving a shooting star. Covered right after the bell on the pivot from below the lower channel line @ 1078.50 for +$107.70.

Missed the ORB which was a nice long setup because of distractions planning birthday stuff.

Short small ANF @ 40.78, pullback from HOD, stopped out @ 40.73 on a small whip for +$7. I should’ve known better than to move my stop too soon with this one. It then fell nicely all day.

No, NO!!!! My birthday was in October, you are excused for missing my second 29th birthday. Ahhh, maybe it was my 3rd 29th. :)

Good to see you winning again.

I was really not into trading today and missed that really cool 10 handle runup. No problemo.

Lets hope we all have a really good 2010. I never really trade on BLACK FRIDAY. From what i saw out early, the shoppers were out in force but they petered out quite fast. Bargain hunters, bottom fishers. :D

PS: I enjoy the relaxed holiday time of the year. Happy kids, nice Christmas displays on houses etc. Snow is beautiful when you do not need to drive in it. Winter fashions. Gift giving, just plain ole feeling good from yet ANOTHER good year, not simply counting money but including good health etc, etc.

    Thanks, Hog.

Not only that 10 handle run up, but the nearly 10-handle fall from grace once the test of the high failed.

    Happy belated birthday

  9. Just curious ... have you changed your mind about liking the ORB trade when there's a tall opening bar? (was 6 points yesterday).

I'd been watching the pre-market action for a good 2 hours before the open and saw a lot of indecision, BUT a strong support zone established around @ 75. I sold short not long before the open because I liked how previous support (around the 81 zone from a few days back) had become resistance. I find that to be a good short signal. And I thought the slightly lower high might result in a retest of 75 at the open and possibly a breakdown to the overnight pivot low @ 67. I exited on the pivot off a higher low because higher lows invalidate short setups IMHO.

The sheer buying strength at the open placed me in a long mood. Black Friday, you know, and stocks were on sale :D

I always wait for a pullback and higher low when that opening bar is large, but that never really transpired. Price just rode above the upper channel line the way only a strong trend can! I had a bunch of tasks distracting me and before I knew it price had run above 90 and my "too high to buy" mentality kicked in.

Now if I was BigHog, I couldn't have cared less about news, fear, channel lines, MACD, Elliot Waves, bar size, or the number of moons in Uranus. I would've simply had my buy stop in place at (I think) around 86 and enjoyed a perfect stress-free trade.

So this was a case where waiting for confirmation was no help at all to me.
