How do you feel about Watson's remarks?

  1. Watson is dead-on accurate. Blacks are not as intelligent as whites.

  1. It's not my intention to label you a racist. 'Racist' is a word that can be applied to almost everybody or to only a small minority - depending on the context; it's a heavily loaded word that should be used carefully.

  3. The way the situation is set up now it's unlikely that there will be any serious or sincere dialogue in political circles about actually addressing poverty - black or white. Neither blacks nor whites are monolithic communities working toward their respective goals. The whole thing's a confused mess. I think the haves are in the process of simply turning away from the have-nots and you and I may as well do what everybody else seems to be doing - just tend to our own well-being while the world turns the way it turns.

  4. man

    man

the real frightening part to me is that the americans have absolutely
no understanding how inferior they are in terms of culture. believing
that tv shows in manhattan and hollywood are the cultural summit
of humanity is so utterly stupid. not to mention the blindness
regarding democracy. america supports each and every democarcy
around the world, provided that the results of the democratic
process are in line with US business interests. look at the way
democracy was treated in the 2000 elections? and this country
claims global leadership on democratic values? and how many
    people participate? 50%?

you can't put the naive and stupid ronald mcdonald on a country
that has one of the oldest cultures on this planet. america has very
much money and very little respect. plus it is immensly hypocrite.

    sorry. off topic.

  5. I didn't realize there were so many gutless, spineless racists among traders, or is it just this site?

Either way what a lovely introduction to this place

  7. I don't think it is just this site. Most traders are blinded by their desire to keep the money they make so they are staunch anti tax crusaders. That should make them old-style Republicans (I was one of those). With the shifting of the Republican position from economic conservatism to social conservatism, these people's positions shifted with it. So although forty years ago a good Republican would stand for civil rights and equality, today's Republican party collects hatred and warmongers (and closet gays for some reason).

What's amazing is that the same people who identified with the old Republican party forty years ago, have also become the gutless, spineless racists today as you describe. It simply tells me that these people have no real principles. They are only interested in the money. And for that they'll toe the whatever party line that is necessary.

  8. I saw your previous comments so I'm not too surprised you took exception to the words gutless, spineless racist. I'm sure you believe you are one of those brave, noble racists

    Civil rights and equality...

We already have equality in the legal system. In my opinion I would go as far as saying that minorities actually enjoy a privileged position! So the civil rights issue is solved. Black people can sit wherever they can find a seat on the bus!

    Socio-economic equality...

There is no such thing... Nor should there be! Let the market and the economy dish out the rewards. It is impractical to practice Utopian politics. National Socialism failed and Communism failed. What did they have in common besides the fact that they both ended in ISM? Well, both tried to reshape society along ideal lines! I'm incredibly wary of any political philosophy that ends in ISM. That includes Neo-Conservatism, Capitalism and Liberalism...

    Taxation...

It isn't racist to want to hold on to your hard earned money. Personally I don't care what lifestyle people live. I just don't want to pay for that lifestyle. Let charities do their work through funds raised from donations. Don't start a political movement to get the government involved to fix the problem. Then the rest will have to pay so that a certain minority group can live well. We call that Favoritism... and that is not fair! It is an ISM and as I said before I am against that!

i lived a mile from where this happened, and i'd been robbed in my home during the night myself, in my bedroom while i was sleeping- if you drove through the area, you'd never guess how dangerous it is - it's nice new and prosperous - but it's near another neighborhood, that although has decent homes, is mostly black

i think a contributing factor was, that these kids had been conditioned to not trust their instincts when 2 characters who look like that come to the door after 11 at night, and it cost them their lives
