  1. Here we go can't have a down equity market EVER! it's going green right in time for lunch.

  2. The only time the market will drop is when people stop waiting for it to do so

  3. Look at all the hungry buyers bidding it right back up.

  4. Well I somewhat disagree. When most people stop waiting for it to drop. I have been trading for a while and found that when I wait for the opportunity, and really act when it happens, it's fantastic. Shorts are my setups and best trades in my 8 year career.

So....why I posted was I was just wondering who might have these same feelings as me. Of course, I found a solution. My solution is to just take days, maybe weeks. off until the setups occur again. It is absolutely the right thing to do, and it's amazing the growth it took for me to actually do this. Equally amazing is the other things in my life this produces, like a recharge and ability to attend to other projects.

I know at the end of each trading day what setups to trade for the following day. 40 days of trading make my whole year. The rest I learn to eliminate by simply not trading, but I just learned this. I give up some days by not being there, to be sure, but for now this is where I am.

At the end of today, I will know if I trade tomorrow or not, and that's a big step for me, if you agree or not.

  7. Good short setups are very rare in this market. Most shorts can't make much money either. Maybe 1-2% if they are lucky and then p000f up goes the market and it is time to cover.

There were probably a ton of great short oportunities in 2000-2002 but not anymore.

  8. Stock you are venturing out of your sandbox again. There are always good short setups, you just don't know where to look. The momo game is your method..We all know, and you have done well with it. I and other people who trade, always have shorts on their pad. I guess if you believe that there will never be another bear mkt, let alone a correction, and history has changed forever you have no need to learn how to short. I happen to believe we will have another bear mkt, plus lots of corrections. You have done very well playing the momo game, just make sure you're not holding the bag when this cycle ends.

  9. So you wait until the market moves up to cover? I generally cover with the momentum on that current trade, and on the best trades I leave something at the end on the table. That way I get out of my huge position while it's still moving in my direction. When I have tried to hold on until then, I end up covering with the buying, and it really decreases profit for this method of trading.

If you are waiting until the market moves up to cover, in my opinion, you probably shouldn't be shorting as a main strategy.
