Well you shouldn't get invaded just because you decide to join a different club, PR or no PR. It's not the West's fault that Ukraine and all the former Eastern bloc countries all want to join NATO. If the West is really that bad, why would all these countries want to join NATO? Remember Ukraine and these Eastern bloc countries all have slavic roots; they can all understand Russian or each other's language if spoken slowly so from a cultural point of view, they should have more in common with Russia than with the West.

If send reservists on the first wave then Putin is preparing for long war. The outcome of war is difficult to predict especially its duration e.g. Iraq war lasted 7 years at a cost of $1T. I am quite sure the planners at Pentagon never thought of 7 years and cost that much. If you want to know who was the main beneficiary of the Iraq war, just Google. It was highlighted back then but no one listened.
