I meant facetiously politician(s) (e.g., president, governor, congress) might defer evictions forever. This would help reelection campaigns since there are more renters than landlords. The renters would then be de facto owners.
I can agree with that, what i wont agree with is that you will need a 90% robotics rate. Too many people are going to end up homeless as time goes on. Which means they will HAVE to do something before your robotics rate. The government will literally not have a choice, considering its already being discussed in the halls of congress.
You are still not thinking far enough into the future. Once the robotics is at 90% to 100%, nobody would NEED to work. And they will still get paid, whether it's UBI or everything becoming free. Work will become a hobby not a duty or necessity because the robots will make all the money we need. During the interim before we get there, we will just work when we have a job and paid by the gov't when we can't but eventually everybody will be on permanent unemployment and rely 100% on UBI. That's an eventuality. What the gov't needs to do is just to make sure the support safety net, financially and psychologically, is provided adequately every step of the way. That's it.
That's what I said as the other alternative: We are going to have to be very careful when we take vacations from now on especially if you live in the state of California. Can't believe a state actually legalizes people stealing other people's homes.
Asinine concept. You are overestimating robotics and underestimating why UBI will need to be implemented in the near future. NOthing else needs to be discussed here.
I think Landlords should get Helocs on their mortgage(s). If they are levered any decrease in price would risk the bank calling the loan, but so far prices are only heating up last I checked. Fed go brrrrrr. I've heard of regular people in my community "refiance" their loans at "record low" interest rates and go on vacation, pay off debt, buy cars, it's pretty cool. I'm more worried about what's going to happen when their are no more home buyers and we top but that's just normal supply and demand. Of course something could happen but /ES. Rocketship Emoji.
the wheel would continue to spin not until the day China decides not fund the credit card anymore. regardless what the FED said, I think inflation is here to stay. Someday SPX will realign back down to the long term average PE.
I've little to no sympathy for landlords, most are blood sucking vampires who are abusing the renters at every step.
