Who said anything about paying? Her argument is that it takes too long to see a doctor, and speed matters as her tumor markers are rising.

She started a gofundme, that's why. Name is Kristin Logan. It's cool that you got your Oncology certification.

She's a U.S. veteran. Why in the fuck would she need a gofundme page when the VA pays for her health benefits including travel reimbursements for her through the VA Community Care services if she need to travel from Canada to the United States to receive medical care.

Just as important, she could have gone straight to the U.S. embassy in the nearest city she's living at in Canada to have the embassy advocate for her at her Canadian hospital through the VA Patient Advocacy program for faster care...it's a benefit that many Veterans do not know about when their dual citizens of both countries.

It's a benefit that the U.S. embassy in Canada would have told her about or In-Network hospital to the VA Healthcare system would have told her about when she notified them she had to travel from Canada to receive faster medical care in the United States at a VA Medical Hospital.

In addition, a big shame on the United States for still refusing to adopt a universal healthcare system similar to our VA Healthcare system that is consider one of the best healthcare systems in the world.

I would be surprised if she was not aware of In-Network hospitals all over the United States that work with the VA Healthcare system for Veterans who do not live near a VA Hospital.

Thus, she knows she will receive better healthcare at a VA Hospital than taking a chance for the same care at a traditional hospital in the United States that's In-Network.

It gets better for U.S. Veterans living in Canada or residing in another country. She could have used a private medical system in Canada for faster medical care...it's something wealthy individuals do in Canada.

Had she gone the route of private medical system care in Canada...the VA Healthcare system would have reimbursed her the costs through the VA Foreign Medical Program (FMP) if she notified them within 72 hours after medical care.

There's a phone number on the back of her VHIC VA Healthcare card to call in her medical care...a number her spouse, children, or relatives should have access to just in case she's incapacitated (unconscious or incoherent) when hospitalized. Thus, her family members would make that phone call for her.
    • My children and siblings (siblings live in the U.S.) have a copy of my VHIC card (front and back) on their cell phone. The same for my spouse because she's a veteran too and West Point Alumni.
Worst case scenario, there's the U.S. Embassy in the nearest biggest city to where ever she resides in Canada. She could have used them to advocate on her behalf for faster medical care in Canada to prevent traveling across the border for faster treatment at the VA Hospital in the States considering she's a dual citizen.

Many traditional U.S. hospitals knows about Veterans and will look through the wallet of an incapacitated patient to identify the patient and check to see if the patient is a U.S. Veteran with a medical history.

Because she's scamming? She knows that her nonsense appeals to the Base. You don't think she knows exactly what she's doing? She's currently receiving chemo in Canada.

Funny part about this thread is that Trump seems obsessed about Canada and how we supposedly are ripping off Americans by selling you stuff. You either care about Canada or you don't :). I think the thing that upsets some Americans on here ( well, the dumb ones ) is that Canadians don't put up with this shit. We may hear your rants out but at the end of the day we aren't fking giving in to this nonsense. I'm looking forward to the moment when many Americans realize that trade with Canada is important to your economy in many parts of your country. In particular, you need our Heavy Oil or your gas prices go up immediately.

We are already ready to face Trump head on. His rhetoric has awoken the sleeping bear. We may not be loud about it but this isn't your cousin Jimmy that dropped out of high school ( and posts under alias TreeFrogTrader ? ). We are educated, resourceful, can outlast any crap that occurs short term we faced worse when inflation was 15%.
