No "easily" there. First of all, Camp Trump is a separate party within the republican party. That is just a fact. There are plenty of anti-trumpers in the republican party. Second, people do simple math to declare who "controls" certain things when in fact they need to look at senate rules. On most issues, if you dont have 60, you dont control.
Politicians on both sides like to talk tough regarding border security and immigration but they fail to follow through with their actions. Mainly because they feel it will hurt their next reelection. The majority of Amercians (not the fringe left) are fed up with the empty talk, hence why Trump gained traction and in reality won the election. He was seen as an outsider who would do what he said and get things done. Is he the most polished politician? Lol, far from it and thankful for it. But for the first time in a long time, you have a President who's trying his best to do what he said and being fought on every side of the establishment with every tool at their disposal. The last Porkulus Bill, Trump capitulated and gave Congress what they wanted to keep the government going without additional border funding. Trump told them he'd never do it again. Edit, it's not just the wall. Congress needs to fix, once and for all, the immigration issue. Maybe, if everyone would come together instead of fighting Trump they might get something accomplished.
It's Trump's wall because he said he will build it. JFK said he would put a man on the moon. Eisenhower doesn't get credit for that. Why should the democrats budge on adding funding? Is Trump budging on DACA?
So you are saying is that most people don't want the wall except for a few hard-core Trumpers. Majority rules in a democracy, right?
Here is what we all need to give some thought. This government has devolved into a complete circus, a total state of chaos. Of this there is no debate. Are we surprised? No. This has now become expected. We expect this clown show. If incompetence and indifference to the human suffering that results were Olympic sports these MF'ers would be gold medal contenders. Give this some thought next time you vote, because if you're supporting any incumbent, any at all, you then lose your right to complain.
With any luck, she could honestly say this... “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” –Hillary Clinton, speech at George Washington University, March 17, 2008
