NMX : Is it worth putting in a market buy order?

  1. CME is only willing to pay $8 bil for BOT.
NMX is behind BOT, at this price NMX has a mkt cap of $12 bil.

  2. I had limits for $100 and obviously got shit, was afraid to go market on the open b/c i was convinced it would drop $10 first. Kid in my office that is basically a $300 a day scalper went balls to the wall for some reason and bought 2700 at market to open. Sold at $130 and was hyperventilating so hard we though he was gonna faint. His biggest day ever by about $25K and all I kept thinking was holy shit the next print after 120 could have been 110.

  3. like many said here: when already up 100%, the risks are high either way. no use crying over spilled milk.

Furthermore, to get the same effect in everyday business: all you need to do is buy a crapload of AAPL slightly OTM options right before any of the many $1.50+ up or down days and you basically get the same or higher payoff (with possibly less risk, depending on how well you control leverage).

the ipo was exciting, but lets talk about all the guys that bought a few K shares at 145+ the other day. what a nice loss.

regardless to make money like this, its basically a game of roulette, so you'll be lucky to net anything playing this game over and over, since most lose as often as they win these things.

  4. "Orderly market"??...What a joke!... The bastard had a .50 to 2.00 spread the whole day. If you routed to nyse, you almost certainly got cooked unless you NXed size... If this stock had opened on nasdaq, it would have traded more orderly, since the ecns were much more orderly than the specialist...

  5. The specialist was overwhelmed...had to trade on ecn if wanted a good fill.
