NLY vs. AGNC

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by TheGoonior, Jul 5, 2013.

  1. For you folks that follow these two stocks, which do you prefer and why?
Yes, I know, both are volatile, tied to the housing market and subject to yield chasing = they are quite risky. However, if you are willing to accept a good deal of risk, which do you like?

I lean towards NLY over the long term as a holding in the real-estate portion of my portfolio, mainly because they've been around since 96 and managed to survive the meltdown. AGNC has a healthy (and a bit scary), high dividend and has only been around a couple years (after the meltdown).

Just looking for other opinions on the subject.

    Thanks,
