This morning 6/1/07, is the first time I've concentrated my trading to FESX instead of US. I started out "wanting" to swing. But the action had me reverting to what I do best, scalping, or some version of. Since 8:30 am est, I've taken 4 trades for +19 NET S @4547, covered @4543, +3 NET L @4551, sold @4559, +7 NET S @4559, covered @4552, +6 NET ( reverse on trade 2) L @4554, sold @4558, +3 NET As of 10:35 est, I am finished with FESX for today. Now playing US indexes. Next weeks EC rate hike should create some very good trading opps, both US and abroad. It will determine whether or not the USD as a "reason" for US markets rise will instead become a catalyst for downside. jmho Osorico EDIT: Slight discrepency on trade 4 vs fill report. Above now reflects fill report. EDIT: Just got off phone regarding Trade #4. It stands as is. [shrug]
No. 3AM est if Im having a bout of insomnia This instrument is liquid. Can't be moved with a handful of contracts like US indexes overnight. And it trades into the US session. And remember, right now, worldwide indexes are synchronized to an extent never before seen. At some point playing across the pond will have a hedge aspect that I will capitalize on. Definately worth the the effort, imo. Osorico
Tues, 6/5/07 Approx 8:00 AM est While prepping for the day, noticed a very solid downtrend in FESX. Based on 15m confluence of POCs and the action, I jumped on board. S @4522, init stop @4528, covered @4509, +12 NET. Right now, FESX is following US, but it is possible, FESX could lend support to the US opening, since FESX has reached a significant POC area. If not, and 4500 breaks, there is alot of big air... targets would be 4475 and 4437. Will monitor closely throughout the AM. Could be very nice trading. Osorico
Once I understood stood this a few years ago along with other areas of intermarket analysis... Trading results became much more consistent along with a better understanding of the markets. Mark
The current worldwide market syncronization is absolutely astounding. And here in the US, index futures trade nearly tic-for-tic. I use 2m charts and it is BIG MONEY when the 2m is synced... when you get it right. Thanks for the comments Mark. Osorico
Well, I haven't quantified it b/c I view it (2m US syncronization, as well as the overall worldwide sync) as an anomaly. That said, I can tell you that the 2m sync in US futures occurs almost daily. I've recently posted a couple of "observations" of such in the ES journal. Osorico
