There's a mini Nikkei for about $5 a tick and the margin for EuroStoxx or FTSE is not much more than YM. Overnight YM is too illiquid for good trading.

  2. Symbol for mini NK?? What exchange??

You're not talking about PA on CME are you? That's not the same as NK at all. And has even less volume then YM.

  5. Following on from notouch's comments.

    1. There are two other nikkei225s to trade. Lots of people trade the SGXNK which moves in 5pt jumps instead of 10pts and each 5pt is 21 bucks. I thought the big nikkei was 1000 yen and 10 pt ticks = more than 25 bucks. Mini nikkei is 100 yen in 5pt increments so 500 = about 4 bucks a tick.

    2. Agreed on dax. Try looking at estx50. Its like the european dow and is much smoother and more liquid than the dax. With correspondingly lower tick cost and margin.

  7. notouch,

Do you know where I can get an intraday chart of mini Nikkei? That is the average daily volume of mini Nikkei225? It seems eSignal does not support mini Nikkei. The only things I found are Nikkei 225 and Nikkei 300 futures for OSE. Nikkei 300 is dead because there is little volume for it.

The eSignal symbol for the mini is NI225_M M7-OSM
and NI225_M 1!-OSM for the continuous contracts.

Im getting sleepy. Range bar pattern is bullish, sans volume. P&F suggests 345 then 350. I can hit the bid right now at 341, NET +3(x2) or just put a stop at net b/e and forget it. Ill think about while I write the rest of this post.

Thanks for all the info on mini-Nikkei. Brings up some interesting issues.

    A) Other than IB, I can't seem to locate a broker that handles it. I don't use IB. That raises other questions. I think the mini-Nikkei discussion needs its own thread.

    B) Other than ESignal and I think Reuters, I can't find any (retail) feed that provides mini-Nikkei data. I have IQFeed + multiple broker feeds.

Needless to say, I will be investigating the mini-Nikkei instrument.

    As of 00:04
    OK. Sell Limit 2@13344. stop @net b/e
