Ninjatrader on a Netbook ?!

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by fluttrader, Apr 19, 2009.

  1. Ninja requires :

    # Windows XP or Windows Vista Operating System *
    # Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768
    # Minimum P4 Processor or higher
    # 1GB RAM or higher on XP and 2GB or higher on Vista
    # Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (pre-installed on most PCs or can
    be downloaded below)

Will it run on a Netbook like

    http://laptoplogic.com/reviews/asus-eee-pc-1000he

little piece of software that enables 1024 x 768

Only question : is the system powerfull enough ?

i'm thinking if the chart update is set around .5 seconds or higher and if the indicators are set to update on bar close, ninjatrader would do just fine on a netbook. i've ran NT on a PIII 833 MHz with 384MB of ram before and it was fine. i'd imagine a 1.66 GHz Atom would be comparable to (probably better than) the computer i previously ran NT on, but you can't be sure.

  3. What OS on your P3 ?

If XP then the netbook should be substantial better with 1 Gig RAM and 1.66 Ghz Atom ...

  4. Am I right about this ?

  5. ?

    Must be the week-end...:)

No, Ninja Trader does not work on a netbook. The resolution isn't high enough. I use an Asus EEEPC btw. I posted this information awhile ago.

  7. No

You need at least 2G, if not 4G and a better resolution.

A Laptop for less than $500 just isn't going to get the job done.

    Try these folks:

    magic micro

  8. With the new asus EEEPC 1000HE you can increase resolution to 1024 x 768 , the required resolution by NT

run ninja trader fine on a samsung NC10

  10. The NC10 only has 1024x600 resolution, no issues because of that ?

What is the average load on the processor ?

    How many Gig Ram ?
