I never had any issues with NT7, but I have periodically had some minor issues with NT8. I didn't use the exact same set-up, so I may be comparing apples and oranges. Still. It took a year until you could use the crosshair on NT8 without lag. On NT7 it worked flawlessly. Ninjatrader still can't let you chart a daily, weekly, monthly chart using the RTH session template. On NT7 this was not a problem. So many users have requested them to implement this which should be a basic feature, but 5 years later it's still not implemented. Another competitor on the other hand is continuosuly improving their software and implementing customer requests. Multi-threading doesn't seem to help me as I have multiple charts of the same symbol and they all run on the same thread. That said. I do have a lifetime license and I do trade through NT brokerage and overall I'm satisfied, but I do not share your enthusiasm for the reasons mentioned above. I see many say NT8 is such a huge improvement, but I just didn't experience it personally.
Maybe @NinjaTrader_Ray should look into this and maybe take legal action: https://brokers-news.com/forex-brokers/a-scam-broker-tradovate-review/ Just a short part:
That is a pretty weak review. It states a few things that are common among brokerages, and portrays them as unique and awful things that only Tradovate implements. I laughed when I saw the part about the tiered commission schedule being fraudulent. It is very clear you don't have to pay up to lower commissions, but if you do enough volume that it would pay off, then it is a deal. Otherwise the commissions are the same as IB and just about every other broker. Maybe a case could be made for collusion among all brokers on commissions? The closest I have come to a perfect broker was Advantage. When I was using them I was doing a stupid level of volume for a retail trader, and could justify X-Trader plus the commission they offered. The level of service from them was fantastic, and so far nothing has compared. When I burned out on trading at those volume levels, and risk levels I moved over to IB. Nothing spectacular there, but they provided a fair product, and average level of service most of the time. I missed tick charts and a few other things so made a switch to Tradovate. It has been about 9 months and so far the only issue I have had is having on roughly 5 occassions having to ask for a statement since it didn't show up in the platform. They got it out immediately and all was correct, so no problem.
Ray has done well - I had Ninja trader when it was just him as the developer and support was just him (2003/4)
