For some reason I cannot get it to connect with TWS demo, but it works fine with the live TWS. Ports are configured the same in both. Any ideas? I just started using it today. Fired off a few trades with no knowledge of software. Worked great. Now want to practice some stuff without making trades though. Jay
The TWS demo is an applet. The real TWS is a Java application. NT will not be able to access the classes in the applet- it is trapped within the browser world.
This confuses me because the NT quick start guide says to use the TWS demo. At least now I know why it won't work. Thanks, Jay
Just use the standalone TWS version. Instead of your normal login enter user edemo, password demouser. This works fine for me.
