Nikkei 225

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by Reitberg, Sep 2, 2003.

  1. I trade the Nikkei 225 futures on the Osaka and Simex exchanges. I have been doing this through my tape reading.

I would like to have some charting capabilities on the N225, and I do not want to have to pay an arm and a leg because I already pay for two data providers.

Any suggestions on how to get quotes on at least the Osaka Exchange?

open an account with IB, and use the data to chart via a 3rd party operator. (fees for N225 futs/options on osaka at IB are 750 Yen per contract, you'll have to subscribe to the data as well).

  3. if you use IB you can feed the data into Quotetracker. I think the feed costs 5 or 10 bucks a mth and QT is 7 bucks a mth.

How's the trading going? I'm looking at trading jpn/hk over the winter.

  4. The trading is great. I like to trade commodities and foreign futures because then I can not be manipulated by anybody that I know. Who is going to give me their opinion of the Japanese Stock Market?

  5. Why do you trade on both exchanges? Is it the same contract?

  6. It just depends on the fill. They are both pretty liquid. The Osaka is good for electronic fills.
