Why would sudso care if Trade Station went down? You can trade a simulator in any account. And if that doesn't work, just copy the prices from the CNBC (a television show about business news) ticker tape. You can pretend you are a trader there. LOL Successfully, Alex L. Wasilewski Co-Founder & Head Trader Trades That Work www.puretick.com 1-877-GOLONG1 (1-877-465-6641) I wish I had more intelligent stuff to say but hey, you are sudso and I do not have that much time. It is just that some of my room members have asked that I go on Elite Trader and goof on you and a few of your newbie cronies.
I hope tradestation learns from this, so many problems this year. seems like they are growing to fast to keep their technology up to date. they are gonna get smoked by some of these smaller companies writing good code. Been very impressed with ninja trader and multicharts. actually started learning C# to get more in ninja, and multicharts almost like tradestation in the interface but extremely fast for backtesting with lots of cool stuff like 3D optimizations.
You guys should try Ensign with the IB data feed. Its not as robust for backtesting but is a lot cheaper. If your into programming stuff, you can do that too (they have a Pascal based prpgramming language). At thevery least, it would make for a cheap backup system. I've used it for the past 15+ years since it was a DOS app. http://www.ensignsoftware.net/
The only reason to trade with Tradestation is if you are a full auto system trader. Even in that case it might be best to look into Neoticker or something else.
Wow, reading this post is scary. I just opened a TS account and sent them a check. Maybe I'll stop payment and look to trade elsewhere. Problem is that I wanted to also buy third party software that only works with TS - damn!
