  2. Anyone think it will be an angel of death pattern??

    like MSFT
    like EBAY
like POT (well at least until the BIDU shenanigans)

etc etc ones that people think is end all be all and then it crashes when someone realizes its not.

let's be honest, Netflix isn't the same breed of genius like AAPL or GOOG and when fierce competition comes around i think it will be priced accordingly.

But jesus christ their options are expensive

  3. why oh why do you guys fight the trend? Been the same since 1997......it never changes.

Should have bought this down in the $50',$60's and be going along for the ride instead you buy put options, short it and hope!

People said similar things in 2006 and 2007- berating people who invested in bonds and CD's telling them they were foolish for not reaping double digit returns.

No one knows how NFLX will price in a year, but most will admit that it could move significantly. I'm still not touching this one...

25-30% short interest could propel this monster to a porsche scenario.

The machines will dig your grave if you think about fading this POMO stock!

i was short the 175 calls for march, but got out a couple of days ago with a minor loss. is there a successful strategy for trading parabolic charts like nflx? one of the reasons i closed my position is because it may be a takeover target and i did not want to wake up the next morning to find that it was up 30 handles. having said that, if i were to take another short position i would ease into it buying cheap dotm puts (aka lottery tickets)

  10. to get slightly sidetracked but i recently switched from netflix to blockbuster and it's so much better. It's such a shame blockbuster doesnt know how to market their service and is in bankruptcy because their product is vastly superior.

    1) There is no 30 day delay with blockbuster, as soon as new bluray/dvd is released you can have it shipped instead of waiting at least 30 days with netflix.

    2) You can rent pretty much all the console games (ps3/xbox etc..), it's included in the blockbuster monthly fee. There is no game rental with netflix.

    3) Blockbuster has lower monthly fee than netflix for the same #dvd out.

    4) Blockbuster allow certain local store rentals included, so if there is a bb near you can walk in and get the movie right away.

    5) The queue time is a lot shorter than netflix, with netflix you can pretty much forget renting any new movies (already 30 days delayed) it's all very long wait. Blockbuster mostly short wait.

The only advantage netflix has is instant viewing is better than bb's offering. but they are all old stuff, rarely do you have a new movie/tv series that shows up there, i barely use it. All the new tv series i buy it from itune.

It's really a shame noone knows about blockbuster's new offerings. And they dont know how to market their product. If i was bb, i would blasting tv ads all over the place letting everyone know the comparison vs netflix.
