Seeing that the NFL changed the policy requiring a team to forfeit if an unvaccinated player has a case was changed before the regular season was started - there were no forfeits As Captain Obvious noted there is too much revenue tied up in these games so they backed away from the policy. Now the player who catches Covid has to be out for a period of time, get tested twice as negative before returning --- plus having the whole team needed to be tested (especially close contacts), meet virtually, limit parts of practices, etc. when a player gets Covid. Note nearly all the cases during the regular season have been unvaccinated. As noted in this thread we are seeing a good number of unvaccinated players bringing down their entire teams (with losses) when they get Covid and are unable to play. Dallas is just the latest example. It should be noted that NFL teams with 100% vaccination rates don't appear to be having problems generally during the regular season -- some had issues (including Tampa with 5 players who were vaccinated) during the summer & pre-season but this was a time period when some of the players just recently completed the second vaccination. You can entertain yourself by joining football pool for this NFL season where you select which player will be out with Covid for a particular week.
