Actually I think this is a poor decision on part of the business. Inserting your business into a political debate is unwise and not good for profits generally. Unless your business is selling buttons for the GOP or Democratic party.
Wasn’t he using the “fact” that bars in North Carolina weren’t showing nfl games (as if those bars were full of people on a Sunday at 1pm for a reason other than watching football) as proof the nfl should force players to stand?
Actually at the time I mentioned that (and posted media articles covering it) I stated it was a very bad idea for a bar to get involved in a political situation. Announcing that you would not show NFL games and posting a sign at the door about it is simply an unwise business practice. If your customers - present in the bar - ask you to change the channel then that is a totally different situation. However I would note that we are a state with many military veterans - most who find the NFL players kneeling to be extremely offensive. A good number of bar owners in NC are veterans.
