Or until Georgia pacific wants to build a paper mill down wind from you, and you're standing in the way of "job creation.".
Huh??? Everyone in the U.S. does pay exactly the same rate on the same dollar earned of AGI. Where do you live, on the Moon?
Look at the blue indicator. The U.S. tax system is progressive Another misconception about the U.S. tax code is that high-income Americans pay less in taxes because they benefit disproportionately from tax breaks, otherwise known as tax expenditures. While that may be true for certain individuals, in the aggregate the U.S. tax code remains progressive — with higher-income taxpayers paying a larger share of their income in taxes — even after tax breaks have been taken into account. https://www.pgpf.org/budget-basics/who-pays-taxes
So. As I said, everyone pays EXACTLY the same rate on the same dollar of AGI. Should I answer in German, French or Sanskrit, instead? Perhaps you don't understand plain English.
A progressive tax system will not be allowed to work in an extreme-right capitalist system like you are alluding about the US. You would instead have a flat tax system. Capisce?
You know, piehole I was about to "like" this post until the last 2 sentences. You lost all credibility when you imply that the US is at the extreme in capitalism. Ever hear of Social Security, Medicare/Medicade, etc...etc... etc... In addition to entitlements above, there are 79 means tested welfare programs at the Federal level. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_programs_in_the_United_States
No, we do not pay exactly the same rate. Not when you factor State and Local income taxes. I bring this up to not just to Trump you. But, I bring this up because the left always forgets about all the other income taxes we pay. Unfortunately for some, the Republicans did not forget about state taxes when they decided to screw the socialist states during the past tax law changes.
The post I was responding to concerned Federal income tax. In a progressive income tax everyone pays the same rate on the same dollar of their taxable earned income. However when certain types of unearned income are taxed at lower rates than earned income, It is possible for a person "A" with a higher total income to end up paying a lower average rate than a person "B" with a relatively high income but all of it earned.
