    Greetings!

Interesting, Im at a phase in my cognitive development where I no longer like reading "news" that doesnt let people comment, there was a time when I guess I had so much respect for newspapers that I thought it was trashy to have comments... but anyways,

Yes, this sounds like a great idea. Would the target customer be day traders? As you have stated there are already services that perform this task. I know people who use terminals but they all complain that there is just sooo much information.

I would suggest you start working on it, and refine as you move forward, no idea how tech works but guessing you should probably get patents too. you say you have lots of experience with traders and are a tech guy. I would wager there is a definite market to supply, and there is a definite need/want.

Just FYI I currently have two paid services that I use, both actually not only throw the news at me but know what to throw at me.(this is the part that can be very difficult btw) but you also having experience in the trading world so it will be much easier than your competition trying to develop an app from scratch with no idea.

keep me updated, maybe I will be one of your first customers :O)

Go for it and best of luck!

and when it takes off remember to at least offer a budget version for the little guys please :O)

  2. Seems like a fine idea theoretically to me. I ‘m just wondering how you will filter the essential news from the unimportant, as the importance of every news item might be relative for each trader.

Fascinating project and great history / background / insight you have into the space. No doubt it's doable and can be useful, but that is only one piece of the pie, as you well know. With time and hard work, all the pieces can come together. If you hit a roadblock and have to take a detour, remember that sometimes detours can take you to good places you could not have foreseen. The end result might not be what you now envision, but it will be fun, and we might just be able to say we knew you back when you were in the planning stages :)

Seems like you are thinking more in predictive mode than reactive mode, which i suppose is optimal, but many minds primarily think reactive. Perhaps you can have a section for each, or maybe focus on one is best.

If you run out of things to do. I always wonder why my screener will only screen from start of day until current time ... i wish i could screen for the past 5 minutes as well.

I wish you much success, according to your own measurement.
