I'm trying to find a source for company earnings announcements that I can rely on programmatically to see if a given stock has announced earnings that day. The closest ones I've found so far are by Yahoo Finance and MSN Money: http://biz.yahoo.com/topic/earnings/ http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/ca...ARNINGS_RESULTS But both of these have the same problems: 1) They don't even include all of the sources that are available on their websites (e.g. GlobeNewswire, Business Wire and Marketwire). And when searching through those sources individually, there is no single text searchpattern to reliably match only earnings-related news. 2) They include *non-earnings* news such as dividend announcements and scheduling of conference calls. Can anyone suggest any good sources for this information?
We have a news page as part of our IQFeed, DTN.IQ and ProphetX service that updates hourly with a table of companies reporting earnings. Not sure if this is the type of thing you are looking for, but here is what it looks like. We have a decent number of customers who have our API and parse this story programmatically, then use other functions of the API to obtain stories from the wires:
Does this feed specify a timestamp for each earnings report, or at least whether the announcements were before the market open or after the close? I like the frequently updated data, but the price is high given that I'm not looking for a fully-featured realtime stock price feed.
No. The table is timestamped when built/sent but it doesn't tell you when each company released earnings.
