Newegg IPO

Discussion in 'Stocks' started by Pekelo, Sep 28, 2009.

  1. When is this IPO happening? (Love NEwegg.com too)

I wish we could get in on it with TDameritrade, or any IPO. ALso, Even if you have a broker accoutn with JP morgan, don't you STILL need to be a "high roller" to get in?

  2. Wow, Ugly S-1 filing.

only 28 million dollars of profit on 2 billion in sales (razor thin margins)

And lots of nasty risks including shareholder equity dilution etc..

I wonder how many longs gonna get burned on this IPO

    Smells Like Crazy Eddies.

  3. Wow that is ridiculous. Roughly 16 million in net income after taxes. 0.8 percent ROA?

There's a reason they're so popular, and that reason is that they have rock bottom prices, but outstanding service. I'm sure that has a lot, if not all, to do with the tiny profit margin.

Call Etrade and ask them about getting in at the IPO price.

When V had their IPO I purchased 2000 shares at market that morning. I'd been trading for 5 whole weeks, had no idea what a limit order or a stop was and simply thought, "Wow, Visa! That will go up!"

Well, it took almost an hour to get filled and my price was 59.00, not the 43.00 IPO price I was expecting. When I contacted Etrade about why my price was so far from the IPO price they said you need to reserve shares in advance to get that price.

The good news is, V moved up nicely and I made a $7100 overnight.

    Ah, beginner's luck...
