I have a newbie question. The NASDAQ option chain has a column labeled "date." Is this the expiration date of the option? If so, why does it list dates prior to today's date? Aren't those options expired, and now worthless? For example, see http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/aapl/option-chain
%% Hopefully you record your own data[pen + paper or print that]; lot of reasons for that , even with a liquid stock like AAPL................................................................... NO volume is a danger sign on a liquid stock, like AAPL, no telling when/what the last quote really was with no volume.
Ah, it makes sense now. It seemed odd at first to list a price for expired, worthless options. But the price they traded at just prior to expiration is useful.
Do you have a trading platform to view live pricing? Our minimum for our Web Trader is $10,000 but there are other retail brokers that have little or no minimum to open an account and view live markets. Bob
