Newbie question, what is a prop shop ?

    Is Interactive Brokers considered as a prop firm ?
    Do I need trade in their location ?
    Will I be employeed by them ?
    How are they different from a hedge fund ?

    Do I need trade in their location ? NO
    Will I be employeed by them ? NO
    How are they different from a hedge fund ? IB is a BD not a HF.
