I'm just getting back into active trading. I'm used to dealing with firms such as e-trade, td waterhouse, etc. What is the difference of these and 'direct retail' & 'prop firms'. The speed and accuracy of information is, for now, somewhat important, but low costs (commissions, etc) for an someone who trades a lot intermittently is a greater concern. Just a brief overview is fine for now. Thanks
