People are wondering what role video games play when things like this happen. Many people have a violent nature to themselves. History is rife with people setting witches on fire, lynching people, executing rivals, genocides of indigenous people.

So no, video games are not the cause. Some people are just dangerous and the only way to protect innocent people is to limit their ability to do these types of acts.

  2. Seriously? We never had these mass shootings, even though guns were far more common and available. Then you have a couple of generations of kids raised by absent or divorced parents who spend all their waking hours playing first person shooter games and that doesn't make a difference?

  3. Obviously I don't condone this mass shooting nor defend the people responsible. That said, the media have a far different reaction to the long parade of mass killings by muslims. The first thing we get is the immediate demand that muslims as a group not be held responsible for the actions of "extremists" or "radicals," even though muslims as a group tend to be sympathetic to their militant members. By contrast, when a clearly disturbed white guy murdered some blacks in their church, it was open season on all things southern, starting with monuments to our ancestors.

The number of Christians killed by muslims in religious violence is some huge multiple of the number of muslims killed. Our media and our pols ignore it. Few of you are even aware of the persecution black Christians are undergoing in Nigeria. https://www.christianpost.com/news/...stians-slaughtered-mostly-women-children.html

Anti-Christian violence by muslims, as took place in Iraq under George Bush, who ignored it, and Syria, by ISIS, Saudi-funded proxies, is either ignored by the media or treated as unfortunate but not something we should be concerned with.

Yes, seriously. Guns were not more common at any other time. There are more guns today in America than ever and they are much more deadly.

Kids all over the world play violent video games yet these shootings are overwhelmingly happening in America. If your hypothesis were true then we would see these types of shootings more evenly distributed worldwide. They’re just not.

  6. Mass shootings do not overwhelmingly happen here. It seems that way but if you adjust for population, etc they don't. This is another fake news factoid like the claim that immigrants commit less crime.

The other factor is that we have never had so many youths on powerful mind-altering drugs. Many of these shooters in fact had mental issues and had been treated at some point for them.

There is a values clash here for sure. One side is willing to suffer the consequence of massive immigration, which would include such atrocities as the first World Trade Center attack, 9/11, Boston Marathon bombing, San Berandino attack, Pulse nightclub attack, etc. The other is willing to suffer the consequences of having a Second Amendment.

  7. So you read this guys manifesto and it would seem he is conflicted and full of contradictions, but is he really? Is it not possible to be less than thrilled with Trump and modern day conservatism, and still realize that leftist multiculturalism has run amuck with its love affair with radical Islam, and know that to be the greater threat? So we see one more pushed over the edge and of course he lashes out, and again the innocent are killed. Why them? Because they were the easy target and symbolism is all he could pull off. The not so innocent, the truly guilty, the ones actually responsible for this ramroding of multiculturalism and push towards a global society are much more well protected behind various lines of defense not afforded to the mere commoners. So it plays out just as they like it and the mutts fall for the storyline everytime.

Perhaps it is not so much his ideology that caused the violence, it was the crazy loser looking for something to justify his long bottled up hatred.
