Im looking for some advice. I want to start trading in the forex market and this seems like a okay place to ask my first serious question about it. The only real experience i have in it is the FXCM demo account and i do enjoy playing with it, mostly using EUR/USD. About me, i am 21, work part time and go to school part time. The type of trading i would like to get involved with is opening and closing positions based on short term trending, i have seen it called blade running. Now im planning on opening a FXCM mini account and hopefully working my way to a full account later on. Does this seem like a good place to start? The number of brokers to choose from seems very large. Are there any informative or must have books that i should read to help prepare myself? Long term i would like to trade daily on weekdays and be good enough to support a moderate/average lifestyle apart from any other form of income.
  2. liger,

First of all welcome to ET.

For me personally, I have got more from these forums in ET than any book has given me.

Puruse and digest these threads. There are gems of info, that are for YOU to discover...

    Good Trading to you...

  3. I agree.

Finding the right broker is the least of your concerns right now.

FXCM and Oanda are great, but just test out the Demo they both have and see what one suits you better.

Start an account with an amount of money that you don't want to loose, but it won't kill you if you do loose it. Chances are you will loose most or all of your initial account. But believe me, you will not have lost it for nothing. Experience is a gem in itself my friend.
  5. Open account as small as possible.
