Whiz kid stock picker: No, I didn't make $72M http://finance.yahoo.com/news/whiz-kid-stock-picker-no-190045689.html
The story is still BS. Let's assume the kid is worth $2 million and he started with a barely believable $10K from his "tutoring job" (at age 9!! Shouldn't a kid this smart have graduated high school before he was 15?) OK that's a 200-fold increase over 8 years, which works out to a gain of almost 5.7% a month for 96 months straight. And this is after commissions and after taxes. PT Barnum put it best: there's a sucker born every minute.
Stuyvesant is a rough school yo! Almost 75% of the students are Asian-Americans. Very dangerous and tough crowd.
Maybe she's the fabicator. Or maybe she's a gullible reporter who gets played a lot, first by some DJ and now by some high school fabricators. Either way, not a bright future for her in journalism.
As you say it's a rough school!! Built specifically for a STEM curricula it was, at the time it was built, the most expensive high school in America -- $200,000,000. I lived a few blocks away at one time and when school let out it was like being in Hong Kong!!
He made the "20 under 20" list last year. http://www.businessinsider.com/20-under-20-in-finance-2013-11?op=1
