New York Democrats Want To Tax Stock Trades As State Revenues Plummet

  1. No my president is in office until 2024 thanks to dementia Biden. I'm not the one who has to come on here for another four years suffering through another election embarassment.

I literally just pasted a screen shot from the front page of Yahoo News taken immediately after your claim of bias there. Do you dispute that the screen shot is accurate? If so, then there's clearly no way to have a rational conversation with you. But thanks for the vote of confidence in my ability to completely build a "fake" Yahoo News site in the space of a couple minutes, I'm impressed with myself!:)

BTW, please please please view the entire video of the veteran being brutally beaten and pepper sprayed while standing calmly with his hands at his side threatening no one (https://www.kgw.com/article/news/lo...oner/283-54f9c138-40ec-410c-8077-7a17f686a6f6). It is utterly appalling to this veteran. If you think it's "liberal bias" then clearly you've both never served and are completely blinded by a sick idiology.

  4. LOL, are you twitching with rage as you type?

I merely made a point that centrist/non-partisan news outlets like Reuters or Associated Press appear liberal to a lot of people because they report factual information. Some of this information is in direct conflict with "the lore", like that drinking bleach is not good for your health, that hydroxyquinone has serious side effects or that Obama was born in Hawaii. Some of the liberal conspiracies are equally silly, but they don't get as much attention in the left-wing media as the right-wing conspiracies do.

But since we're on the subject of elections, I personally don't care. I did ok under Bush, Obama and doing very well with Trump in the White House. The business we're in is very non-partisan, to quote an old movie: "No need to believe in either side, or any side. There is no cause. There's only yourself. The belief is in your own precision."

PS. if there is someone I'd love to see in the White House that's Mitt Romney - alas, that's not to be

So what is it, I faked the front page of Yahoo news or not? Also sincerely curious if you are as appalled as I was by the beating of an unarmed and unthreatening veteran after actually watching it or if you still think that's "liberal bias"?

  6. I never said you faked anything. Where did that even come from? I have better things to do than watch videos all day to be honest.

Don't worry, it's only about 30 seconds. An absolutely brutal 30 seconds of federal agents beating a veteran in a way that has no possible justification. I know that makes you deeply uncomfortable, so uncomfortable that you'll literally put your hands over your eyes and claim "you have better things to do" than watch something that could potentially force you to reconsider your worldview. It looks like you're unable to bring yourself to do that, which is very sad. One wonders on the mentality of someone who considers their posts on this thread "better things to do with their time" than opening your eyes to the absolutely horrid things going on in the country today.

  8. Now you're guilting me into it? Seriously, what are you trying to gain out of this awkward exchange.

So so hard for you, I know. And you're so short on time, what with all these important posts you're making.

  10. it would be like taxing on the horsetrack or casino.
it would make high frequency trading unfeasible.
    they proposed it in 2009
if retail commissions were like in the 70's daytrading is not feasible.
the reason for the low commissions is the business model has changed, it's high volume and gambling that keeps the industry afloat. or pay for the $100,000 porches etc.
volume was very low in the 80's and sleepy industry
the QQQ or ETF industry didn't exist in the 80's and many of the ETF is from retail 'traders'

the QQQ ETF or NQ didn't exist before 1999 and CME was mainly commodity trading. if the tax it wipe out an entire trading industry. people wold lose their jobs and gov't won't get any tax.

if gov't wants to make more money from the 'financial industry' it would be higher capital gains taxes or taxing trading profits as income tax. and tax more on profits. not on trading activity.

there are people in the hedge fund industry with offshore accounts making billions tax free on capital gains. taxing profits is more fair. and makes sense. Trump and his cronie would be against increasing capital gains or cracking down on loopholes where some investors dont pay a dime on profits or capital gains.
