New Year resolutions

  1. This is the year that I deal with my fear. I have been fearful about - whatever. It runs the gamut from the risk of ruin to so many groundless shibboleths that I almost find them comical - but not quite. The selling of fear in our society has become pervasive and overwrought - yet I have not been immune to its influence. But circumstances in my life no longer permit me to have the luxury of being afraid, so now I must deal with my fears - I have no other choice. Growth is sometimes painful, but when that pain cannot be separated from growth, it is necessary. It is time for me to become who I truly am, and throw aside the childish and negative mindsets that have prevented me from achieving a higher level of personal satisfaction.

Ultimately, we tend to deal with our problems when the pain of not dealing with them exceeds the pain of dealing with them. I've reached that point. Time to close out the fear trade.
