I don't think you can go wrong buying that workstation. I just bought one similiar to it. base unit - HP Workstation XW 6400 operating system - Microsoft Windows XP Pro processor - Intel Xeon 5150 2.33 4 MB /1333 DC 1st CPU system memory - HP 2GB (2x1Gb) DDR2-667 ECC FBD RAM hard drive 1 - HP 160GB SATA II 3Gb/s NCQ 7200 1st HDD optical device1 - HP 16x DVD+/-RW DL Lightscribe 1st Drive graphics card - NVIDIA Quadro 3500 256M PCIe Graphics I use Ninjatrader and Tradestation. The computer shows no sign of sluggish behavior with these two software programs running. This workstation should last you for years. Let us know if you do decide to purchase the HP xw6400
Thanks for all your advice and replies. I will send a picture from my office, as soon as I have my station ready. With this special service of HP it takes 10 days. I chose a Xeon because it was an excellent choice together with the Nvidia NVS 440 graphics card regarding the monitors and applications which will run. Maybe it is a bit overkill but i just wanted to feel satisfied and not worry about any better systems. It just seems good for me. about a question: I did not understand why to add Raid hdd? By the way my hobby is painting, next to this workstation I will buy the new Cintiq 21" tablet from WACOM. It is incredible and excellent if you use graphics programs like adobe, painter or others. It will go with a Powermac Xeon Woodcrest (also new) I just wanted to tell you if you are interested in painting/sketching or designing the Wacom Cintiq you must try it! For trading I dont belive it is convienient. Keep posting thanks Bob
