New Workstation and Dell Experience

    I called Dell Customer Care after receiving my invoice for the system and complained about the long wait time (7 weeks) and poor notification on ship dates. I suggested a further discount in the price for the monitors. The Dell Rep asked what I was looking for. I said perhaps $60-70 per monitor. The Rep said the best he could do was $150 total ($50/monitor). I quickly accepted. Apparently there is a discretionary limit that the Reps can make to an invoice by themselves. He said I was "pushing it." I thanked him. Bottomline: the 19" Ultrasharp monitors were had for $500 each. The total system was $2,670 before tax.
    I think it pays to contact Customer Care if you have any valid complaints about the service. It probably helped that I was a small-business account and that I purchased multiple monitors.
