Give it some time. Patience, patience!! Patience is the key to success in trading. You should know that as a trader. No exchange is built in one day. Every exchange starts with low volume and then eventually the volume will build up. But I have a feeling that this exchange will explode and eventually all exchanges will follow suit to adopt this extended trading hours. There has been overwhelming demand from Asia to participate in the US stock market for years. They did not decide to open this exchange just for fun; it's obviously to satisfy unmet demands. Futures and forex market is already open 23 by 7. I don't know why the stock market cannot to link up with the other markets. And this will also make double-witching or triple-witching days lot less chaotic since stock trading can be extended over longer hours and not concentrated within just 7 1/2 hours. We will see how it goes. I hope at least it gets approved first.
so instead of my Options expiring at 3pm Milwaukee time, I have to wait until 11pm? I enjoyed cleaning up at the close and going out for a fish fry.
Options market is not yet open 23 by 7, Arnie. This is just one proposed exchange for stocks but think about the flexibility and the increased opportunity that you can have with your options with the extended trading over longer hours. You can still go out on a fish fry if you want. Not everybody trade even over the full 7 1/2 hours of RTH. How many hours you want to trade is still your choice but it's just that with this exchange with the extended hours covering the Asian market, the option (no pun intended) is now available for those who would like to trade over ATH.
What is the reason for options not being like stocks or even futures where it trades after hours? It's still a mystery to me.
I have all the patience I need. I don't trade friggen stocks - care less about there being 23x5 trading at some point. So there is overwhelming Asian demand yet we should expect low volume eventually building up ohhh-kay. Futs have traded round the clock for forever it seems yet NY open and close still rule the day, most trading days of the year. "Keep hope alive" lol.
Well the exchange is opening due to overwhelming Asian demand. But with everything new, it takes a bit of time to get it developed. Why is it so hard to understand? LOL
