Apparently they elected the black dude for Pope first but someone pointed out the Popes washing machine is for 'whites only'.

I'm not Catholic but could someone explain why anyone would stand around all day in cold weather waiting on a Pope to be elected? Then scream and shout as if they'd won the lottery when one is selected. I mean if it wasn't in the news, I'd never know the GD difference.
