Long wave radiation from the upper atmosphere will be radiated back into space by the CO2. But the sun also sends shortwave radiation which is converted to longwave when it hits the earth surface which is then reflected back DOWN into the troposphere. Jerm, just kill yourself now. The study showed ... CO2 does cause cooling. Does it not. CO2 may in theory do some warming as part of the troposphere but again the recent studies are showing its effect appears probably insignificant as the real player there is clouds and water vapor. . (for one of the studies see Pspr link above. So we do know CO2 is causing cooling. What we do not know is if CO2 is doing anything significant in the troposphere... and then if increase in man made co2 is doing anything at all. Finally, statistically there has been no statistically discernable warming since the industrial revolution. So in short there is no science behind your belief that man made CO2 is causing warming on earth. If you have some science I will reverse my view.
