Volume, yes. NJ is poorly designed roadways, and LI is roadways in repair forever. I rarely (maybe 7 years ago?) have not been on LIE, but my Wife went recently, and she vows to never return. I recall it being awful, particularly remembering how filthy everything was due to dust and dirt. Its funny, how my family, we are banning roads. Next time a wedding happens, or any special occasion, we will refuse it, due to our experience with the roads. Sounds like a CYE episode. Thats the way it is though. I dont want or need the aggravation.
