New Java version

Anyone updating to the new Java? I'm reluctant since the last time it was a bloated mass. I had to to run IB's TWS. But I'd like to know if there's any good reason to update now. Thanks.

 

I am having problems with the Java add-ons in Internet Explorer since I upgraded a few days ago.

I had to disable the Sun Java console and helper class, otherwise everytime I opened an explorer window it took like a minute before the window opened.

Also I had problems with the new TWS version and had to downgrade, but I don't know if that is related.

As usual with these kind of things, your mileage may vary

 

Mine runs just fine.

 

Make sure you get rid of some of your old versions of java.

 

i have been getting browser crashes since i upgraded. not sure if its related.
