Your DSL line is not shared, but if you are connected to a remote terminal, your connection back to the CO will be shared will all the other users on the remote. The backhaul of a remote can be 4 T1s, shared among >50 users.
Please consider enhancing the alert funtionality to combine price and time variables into a single alert. i.e. if price of contract is greater than X for Y seconds then send order
IBsoft, I don't see anything new regarding buttons on each individual page in the latest release. To give you an idea, just today, I had 30 orders on 1 page and 50 orders on the main TWS application window on another monitor. When I clicked "transmit all orders on page" the WRONG page got transmitted! Imagine my horror. And this was not the first time either. I can't blame TWS since it was likely an error on my part (although I'm not entirely sure). Anyway, what I'm asking for is a simple, SPEEDY way like having a button on *each* of the individual pages so that many orders can just be "parked" and then transmitted at once with the click of a button on *that* page. This way the wrong orders/pages don't accidentally get transmitted. I understand you'll probably suggest using the basket order input. That whole process takes too much time and is just too cumbersome. Thanks for listening!
and again no mkt data for eurex...this is very good cause SMI and dax are just ringing their opening bells... thank good for x-trader
I wrote a glowing review for IB on this thread (or maybe it was another thread on Elite). Of course this morning I had data problems with Eurex and still the HKfarm is not logged in throwing the light orange. No big deal because HK is not trading. But I missed alot of trading this morning reloging into TWS so I could get some data. For a while everytime I logged in TWS would not get any data at all!!! What is going on there???? I have never seen data problems before. What happened to you guys?
TGM and stfreak, Sorry for the problems. We had a misconfigured firewall. The TWS is designed to recover from such a failure by attempting to get the data from a different source, but this failed. We'll have it fixed. These hiccups happen in conjunction with moving the HK customers onto farms, the benefits of which are increased mkt-data refresh rates, increased number of free-of-charge symbols and decoupling of order-routing and market-data links. (This is not meant to be an excuse, just an explanation of what we were trying to accomplish). IBsoft
Thanks for the explanation. I thought that my rave review jinxed the whole deal. I have had consistent problems with HK over the past week and I am glad it is not something on my side. Your explanation works for me. Anything to make things more stable and faster --go for it. I went to your website and saw that all systems were operating normally---you guys should update that with a firewall down. My stuff is running fine now (I am still getting a orange light from the HKfarm being disconnected).
