New Hard Drive Humming Noise

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by datamerc, Mar 24, 2009.

  1. I've got a pretty old setup (about 6-7 yrs) and my primary Fujitsu SCSI drive is starting to make a high pitched humming sound (probably not a good thing :) ). Being that this is the OS (XP) boot drive, is there a way to simply clone this drive after I buy a new one, to save myself some work?

    Thanks.

Yes. Acronis True Image will let you make a clone of your current HDD.

Acronis is "the class of the field"... though other less feature-rich and sometimes even free (though very slow) programs are available.
