How do you like them 2475s? Pretty spiffy, eh?

About the only thing that I might do at some point in the future is upgrade my 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo "Wolfsdale" E8200 Intel Processor to the E8500 at 3.16 for a whole $187.99 at New Egg.

The E8600 at 3.33 GHz will be the last of the 775 socket microprocessors as the new "i7" Nehalem chip takes hold.

Not sure whether you're asking me or L82, but you can get a "base model" T3400 on the Outlet site for usually around $459... if you're patient, you can sometimes get a really good deal, but you have to check often and act fast... the good deals don't last long. (On two different occasions, I've gone "Ooh, that's a really good deal"... clicked on it only to get the "no longer available" box...)

I recently got a Q9300 quad, 4G RAM, 250G HDD, 2 optic drives, and FX570 on XP for $569, free shipping to boot :>) .... would have been >$1400 if purchased off of the retail page...

Right, but they carry full warranty and 21-day return privilege. I've bought all of mine (4) from Outlet. And don't be afraid of "Scratch and Dent".... I got one and couldn't even find a scuff. On another, there was a small scrape on the black metal top of the case... that was the good deal on the Quad I mentioned... probably was better than normal deal thanks to the scratch... a little Magic Marker and you wouldn't notice unless you're looking for it.

As we're talking monitors and sech, I've still got a couple of NVS cards and one FX570 someone could buy... check the Classified thread bumped up if interested.

  8. I also have the T3400 with 64bit Vista and 8gbram, 4 24" monitors on the NVS290 cards. Runs great. Thought the monitors looked bright and colors to much for all day trading.. Recently bought a calibration tool below and my monitors, charts and all apps look awesome.

Precisely. Unless you're doing heavy number crunching or playing games, mediocre specs will do.

Yes, they're nice monitors. One things has me slightly worried though. Pretty much each monitor is showing a slightly different white when I stretch a white background across all the screens (such as Google homepage etc). This is also noticeable to a lesser degree when viewing light colours too (I have the backgrounds of my charts a pale green colour).

Do you think this is a problem? Is it something I can fix with a calibrator?

By the way, I made sure all the monitors were reset to their factory settings.
