There are only two studies I am aware of that are used to attempt to claim that natural immunity is better than vaccinated immunity. One of of them is the study from Israel -- which you constantly misrepresent -- the study states that the best protection is achieved by a combination of at least one vaccination along with a natural infection. There are dozens of mainstream studies by scientists and governments at this point showing vaccination provides better protection than "natural immunity" Listen Jem -- you are just pushing the same debunked nonsense. Give it up.
I know a few people who are fully vaccinated and still got covid(all mild with no medical attention needed).I know or know of no one who got covid twice.
I know a few reinfections (got Covid twice) in the United States but maybe because I have close connections to some people that work in the medical field and scientists in research labs. Omicron will mostly likely change the equation about such in the United States. Yet, I think that the symptoms will be so mild from Omicron...many reinfections and breakthrough infections will go not reported except in the few cases that the person is immune-compromise and has a severe Covid illness. wrbtrader
Omicron significantly reduces Covid antibody protection in small study of Pfizer vaccine recipients Prof. Alex Sigal with the Africa Health Research Institute and a team of scientists tested blood samples of 12 people who’d previously been vaccinated with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. They found a 41-fold in drop in the ability of their antibodies to neutralize the omicron variant compared to the original virus. The preprint study has not yet been peer reviewed and it tested 14 plasma samples from 12 vaccinated people, 6 of whom were previously infected.
I dont find these blood test studies to be very credible. They don't match real world results when it comes to actually getting covid twice.
I believe the real problem is the small size of the sample as well. However these small studies IMO give an inkling of what is to be expected -- if reinfections will increase or decrease with a new variant. With Omicron this small study shows we should expect an increase in re-infections.
